FoundersBeta Documentary "Founders: The Startup Stories"

Startup life gets talked about nonstop… but founder stories rarely get told well.

That’s why we’re proud to support our partner FoundersBeta on the launch of Canada’s first-ever startup documentary film, Founders: The Startup Stories—now available to watch online.

If you do one thing today, make it this: watch the film and share the official pagefoundersbeta.com/film

Why founder documentaries are so rare (and why this matters)

FoundersBeta created this documentary to spotlight what doesn’t show up in pitch decks: the pressure, the uncertainty, the sacrifices, and the sheer persistence it takes to build. The film is intentionally focused on the people behind the companies, and that’s what makes it so refreshing (and frankly, overdue!).

At Cansulta, we’re in the business of helping business leaders and entrepreneurs access expertise and support when it matters most, so we’re fully aligned with the mission behind this film: make the founder journey more visible, more human, and more understood.

The documentary highlights leaders and founders from several Canadian companies, including:

  • Gambit Technologies (GambitCo)
  • Crafty Ramen
  • Contractor Compliance

And the press release also quotes and spotlights several of the leaders featured, including Khalil Khamis (Crafty Ramen), Ryan Burgio (Gambit), and Mark Bania (Contractor Compliance).

Here are a few links if you want to follow and support them directly:

Part II is coming… and we can’t wait

Even better: FoundersBeta is already teeing up a Startup Documentary Series Part II and inviting founders/leaders to submit their stories via the film page.

We’re excited to see this become a series… and we’ll be watching for what’s next!

Congrats to FoundersBeta + how to support

A big congratulations to FoundersBeta and Eric Rafat for creating something genuinely unique for the Canadian startup ecosystem—and for putting founder stories on a bigger stage.

If you watch it, tell us what hit home for you!
