Description
The Sentient Design Sprint: A Live 7-day Institutional Lab is a live system prototyping and institutional rehearsal environment that produces real, usable outputs (not a workshop, not a conference, not an event, not a training).
Core Logic: I run Sentient Design Sprints as live institutional rehearsal environments where organizations simulate disruption, expose system weaknesses, and build execution-ready solutions before those failures occur in the real world. This is fundamentally a pre-mortem design exercise:
- that force the system to fail safely in the lab; and
- that then redesign it to perform under real-world pressure
Each session is an executive-level strategic rehearsal environment where senior leadership teams (top on the intellectual and collective intelligence of multidisciplinary teams and facilitated by expert designers to pressure-test their assumptions, surface blind spots, and design future-ready operating models before disruption forces the issue.
The Sentient Design Sprints are rapid system innovation labs designed to move organizations from insight to high-fidelity prototypes, integrating strategy, policy, operations, and innovation into one executable system.
For public sector / multilaterals, the Sentient Design Sprints are institutional transformation labs where governments and development actors co-create living policy systems, test them under real-world conditions, and leave with implementable, scalable models. They are live institutional rehearsal environments where organizations simulate disruption, prototype future systems, and build execution-ready solutions under real-world pressure.
During the 7 days rehearsals, participating institution experience
- compressed strategy + futures + design + execution into 7 days
- high-fidelity prototypes, not ideas
- simulate real-world volatility, not ideal scenarios
- reduce decision latency and blind spots
Why Do Institutions Trust This Process?
Powered by a proprietary systems intelligence engine, designed for complexity, not control. Focused on reducing decision latency and blind spots; and built for real-world volatility, not ideal conditions. The Lab operationalizes corporate strategic reset in the face of uncertainties- taking institutions into an immersive strategic design phase. – Enable participants to prototype adaptive institutional architectures and business models. – Generate living policy frameworks, worldbuilding blueprints, and speculative innovation outputs. – Catalyze cross-sector collaboration through deep design immersion. – Build institutional cognitive sovereignty through studio-based innovation rituals.
How the Lab Runs?
Sprint Locations: The Sentient Design Sprints are held year-round across four permanent global hubs: (Look at this link: https://axumwe.com/product/sentient-design-sprint-london-cohort-copy

- Each 7-day is intensive and includes weekends
- Hybrid (physical + virtual)
- Global hubs + private cohorts
- Global expert-led, studio-based, confidential- Expert facilitators from design, coding, strategy, and public policy co-lead the sessions.
- Each day is structured around one of the six steps of Design Innovation with an additional final synthesis/pitch day.
Methodology: 6-Phase Execution Logic (Across 7 Days)
- Sense (Empathize): Reality Mapping- the group captures real signals across: markets, political-economic policy environment, society, technology and internal operations. The team then maps institutional friction, delays, exclusions, and power dynamics. Outcome: A clear, evidence-based picture of where the system is breaking.
- Frame (Define): Strategic Reframing. The team translates complexity into precise institutional problem frames, clear opportunity spaces, prioritized design challenges. Outcome: The organization stops solving symptoms and starts addressing structural issues
- Imagine (Ideate): Futures & Possibility Creation. The team expand thinking beyond current constraints: speculative design, worldbuilding, alternative system configurations. Outcome: Generation of non-obvious, high-impact innovation pathways
- Build (Prototype): System Translation- The team converts ideas into products, services, policies, operating models; etc. These are not concepts, they are early-stage, working system designs
- Stress-Test (Experiment)- Reality Simulation: The team tests prototypes against volatility, stakeholder resistance, operational constraints, and system shocks. Outcome: Only resilient, viable solutions survive
- Activate (MVP Build & Launch Logic)- Execution Readiness: The team finalizes high-fidelity MVPs, governance systems, scaling pathways; and execution models. Outcome- The organization leaves with solutions that can actually be deployed immediately.
