Description
Becoming a Certified B Corporation helps businesses align purpose with profit by embedding social and environmental impact into their operations. It enhances credibility with customers, funders, and partners through third-party validation, while also serving as a practical roadmap for improving governance, employee engagement, community impact, and sustainability. Scope:
- Initial Review of Existing Assets: A detailed list of assets will be requested in the kickoff email, including policies, job descriptions, company values, operating practices, etc.
- Development of Assets and Additions: Development of new or updated supporting documents (policies, handbooks, statements, impact metrics)
- Final Review: Submit recommended edits, assets, and supporting documents to the client for final review and approval. Final documents will be submitted to the B Impact Assessment.
- Support Through B Lab Verification & Auditing Process.
Deliverables/outputs:
- Employee handbook with policies and expectations based on operational best practices and B Corp standards
- Operations handbook with detailed policies and expectations aligned with best practices and B Corp standards
- Supplier handbook with policies and expectations based on best practices and B Corp standards
- Supporting documents and tools to ensure adherence to B Corp standards post-certification (with ease of maintenance)
- Completion and submission of the B Impact Assessment, with adequate points (80+) to achieve B Corp Certification
- Project summary file with all assets, tools, handbooks, and supporting documents, including a post-certification maintenance calendar
Timing:
- B Corp Certification project timelines vary widely depending on resources dedicated to the project, operational complexity, target deadlines, marketing considerations, and other strategic objectives.
Assumptions:
- Client will accept policy and procedure recommendations, within reason, to achieve optimal project results
- Includes up to 3 rounds of revisions based on Client feedback
- Client will provide constructive feedback and guidance in reviews
- Client will review and accept Deliverables within 15 days of final submission
- Client will provide relevant source materials and data, licensed company and brand assets, guidelines, etc.
- Out-of-scope or additional requests will require a separate Engagement
