Description

Becoming a Certified B Corporation helps businesses align purpose with profit by embedding social and environmental impact into their operations. It enhances credibility with customers, funders, and partners through third-party validation, while also serving as a practical roadmap for improving governance, employee engagement, community impact, and sustainability. B Corp certification signals that your company is committed to transparency, accountability, and long-term value—not just short-term gain. It also connects you to a global community of mission-driven businesses and helps attract talent and customers who care about values as much as value.

Scope:

  • Initial Review of Existing Assets: A detailed list of assets will be requested in the kickoff email, including policies, job descriptions, company values, operating practices, etc.
  • Development of Assets and Additions: Development of new or updated supporting documents (policies, handbooks, statements, impact metrics)
  • Final Review: Submit recommended edits, assets, and supporting documents to the client for final review and approval. Final documents will be submitted to the B Impact Assessment.
  • Support Through B Lab Verification & Auditing Process.

Deliverables/outputs:

  • Employee handbook with policies and expectations based on operational best practices and B Corp standards
  • Operations handbook with detailed policies and expectations aligned with best practices and B Corp standards
  • Supplier handbook with policies and expectations based on best practices and B Corp standards
  • Supporting documents and tools to ensure adherence to B Corp standards post-certification (with ease of maintenance)
  • Completion and submission of the B Impact Assessment, with adequate points (80+) to achieve B Corp Certification
  • Project summary file with all assets, tools, handbooks, and supporting documents, including a post-certification maintenance calendar

  • B Corp Certification project timelines vary widely depending on resources dedicated to the project, operational complexity, target deadlines, marketing considerations, and other strategic objectives.
