Description

Business Process Improvement, or BPI, is a series of activities companies perform to optimize their workflows to reach their strategic goals. This practice ensures that procedures you use at work are effective and promote success within your company. BPI is important because it maximizes the efficiency of business processes, increases customer satisfaction, improves employee morale, saves money and time, and creates efficient new processes.

SCOPE

  • Consultant will review and study existing processes and relevant documentation.
  • Consultant will conduct a gap analysis and prepare a gap analysis report.
  • Consultant will prepare a detailed Process Improvement Plan and timeline.
  • Consultant will train the Client’s dedicated team on approach and methodology for improving processes.
  • Consultant will facilitate process mapping and improvement workshops and improve processes according to the set methodology and plan.
  • Consultant will conduct meetings with the project team and top management as necessary to ensure the project is progressing as planned.
  • Consultant will ensure commitment to the Detailed Improvement Plan, follow up on activities, track progress, and update Process Improvement Plan when necessary.
  • Consultant will provide input and advice to refine the improvement process according to Six Sigma (DMAIC), Total Quality Management, lean principles and international quality standards, and best practices.
  • Consultant will communicate progress, escalation and issue analysis to management periodically.
  • Consultant will teach, coach and enable company’s departments and teams when necessary.
  • Consultant will validate all deliverables and completed processes.

DELIVERABLES/OUTPUTS

  • Gap Analysis Report
  • Process Improvement Detailed Implementation Plan/Timeline
  • Recommendations/Action Plan presentation (MS PowerPoint)
  • As-Is and Improved Process Maps in swimlane flowchart (in VISIO and PDF)
  • Approved Processes (approved by Management produced by company staff and validated by Consultant)
  • Progress and Close-Out Reports

TIMING: The duration for process improvement depends on the size and scope of the business. It can range from one month to several months or more. A specific timeframe for execution will be agreed between Client and Consultant.

ASSUMPTIONS

  • Client will provide constructive feedback and guidance in reviews.
  • Client will provide and assign the needed resources to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
  • Client will review & accept deliverables per phase (according to agreed plan) within 1 week of submission before moving to the next phase of the project.
  • Client will provide relevant and timely source materials, licensed, company and brand assets & guidelines, etc.
  • Out-of-scope or additional requests will require a separate Engagement.
